Oobit Card review

3.1Last reviewed 2026-10-29

Oobit Card is a Visa card from Oobit that spends stablecoins and crypto at ordinary merchants, and it charges 1% on every card payment, a cost that its base points, worth 0.1% to 0.5% of spend, do not offset. Oobit's own name for it is the Oobit Crypto Card. Getting the card is free and there is no monthly fee, so the price is paid per payment rather than up front.

There are two ways to fund it. The first is an Oobit account, where you hold crypto with Oobit (its fees page lists no fee to hold crypto in your account). The second is DePay, Oobit's wallet-native payment technology: you connect a self-custody wallet such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Phantom, approve a spending limit, and pay from your onchain balance on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana or Polygon without moving funds to Oobit first. That approval lets Oobit draw up to the limit you set, so the self-custodial description fits only the DePay path.

The card terms set the transaction fee at 1% or $0.25 per payment, whichever is higher. The card is denominated in USD, and payments in other currencies can carry a conversion fee of up to 1.5%, so non-USD spending can cost up to 2.5% in total. ATM withdrawals cost 2.5%, and swapping one crypto for another inside Oobit costs 0.95%. The terms name Third National, under license from Visa, as the issuer and the creditor that funds your payments, set the purchase APR at 0%, and reserve the right to introduce interest on new purchases later. They are written for people outside the United States; the terms that apply to a US cardholder are not covered in this review.

Rewards are smaller than the headline offers suggest. Points per dollar rise from 1x to 5x as your Tap to Pay spend in a 90-day cycle reaches $250, $500, $1,000 and $1,500, and 1,000 points redeem for $1, which is 0.1% to 0.5%. Points count only payments of at least $1 made through the app's Tap to Pay service. The 5% reward in stablecoins is capped at $200 of spend and the 10% reward in OOB, Oobit's own token, at $5,000. Every reward can only be spent on Tap to Pay payments in the app and cannot be withdrawn, and Oobit can change offers on 30 days' notice. The card is listed in 72 countries that have a guide on this site.

Where you can get the Oobit Card

This list is Oobit's own per-country table, read from its card column. The headline says 75 countries and territories but the table has 74 rows, Vietnam is listed with its card on a waitlist and so is left out, and Greenland is on the table but has no guide on this site. In the United States the card is available in most states, and Oobit publishes no state list.

Pros and cons

What works

  • No fee to get the card and no monthly fee, so the cost is per payment only
  • DePay pays from a self-custody wallet such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Phantom without moving funds into Oobit first
  • Listed in 72 countries that have a guide on this site, including most of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea
  • Works with Apple Pay and Google Wallet, so you can tap to pay wherever Visa is accepted

What to watch

  • A 1% fee applies to every card payment, with a $0.25 minimum, which is more than the 0.1% to 0.5% the base points pay back
  • Payments in currencies other than USD can add up to 1.5% on top, and ATM withdrawals cost 2.5%
  • Rewards can only be spent on Tap to Pay payments in the app and cannot be withdrawn, and Oobit can change offers on 30 days' notice
  • The 5% stablecoin reward is capped at $200 of spend and the 10% OOB reward at $5,000 of spend
  • The self-custody route needs a spending approval that lets Oobit draw up to your limit, and the card terms let Oobit and the issuer change spending limits, including to $0, with or without notice

Frequently asked questions

Is the Oobit Card self-custodial?

Only if you fund it through DePay. DePay pays from a self-custody wallet such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Phantom after you approve a spending limit, and that approval lets Oobit draw up to the limit. If you hold crypto in an Oobit account instead, it sits with Oobit rather than in your own wallet.

Which countries can get the Oobit Card?

Oobit's help center table shows the card in 72 countries that have a guide on this site: most of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States (most states), Mexico, eight South American countries, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Asia and Africa. Vietnam's card is on a waitlist, and USDT is not available to New York residents.

What fees does the Oobit Card charge?

There is no fee to get the card and no monthly fee. Card payments cost 1%, with a $0.25 minimum under the card terms. The card is denominated in USD, and other currencies may add a conversion fee of up to 1.5%, so non-USD spending can cost up to 2.5% in total. ATM withdrawals cost 2.5%, and swapping crypto inside Oobit costs 0.95%.

How much cashback does the Oobit Card pay?

The base reward is points worth 0.1% to 0.5% of Tap to Pay spend, rising with your spend over a 90-day cycle, and 1,000 points redeem for $1. Separate offers pay 5% in stablecoins on up to $200 of spend and 10% in OOB on up to $5,000 of spend. All rewards can only be spent on Tap to Pay payments in the app and cannot be withdrawn.

Is the Oobit Card a credit card?

Its card terms treat it as a credit program: Third National is named as the creditor that funds your payments, and the purchase APR is 0%. The terms reserve the right to introduce interest on new purchases later and say cash advances are not available. You repay Oobit under your separate User Agreement with Oobit, which is not covered in this review.
