Gnosis Pay Card (Gnosis Card) review

Last reviewed 2026-08-24

Gnosis Pay is one of the only fully self-custodial crypto debit cards in this batch, spending directly from a Safe smart-account wallet on Gnosis Chain rather than a custodial balance, and its fee structure is close to zero across the board.

Cashback runs under a time-limited interim programme (funded by Gnosis Ltd. and scheduled through September 30, 2026, after which partner-led programmes are expected to take over) that pays in GNO based on how much GNO a cardholder simply holds in their Card Safe, with no staking or locking required. Holding 0.1 GNO unlocks 1% cashback, 1 GNO unlocks 2%, 10 GNO unlocks 3%, and 100 GNO unlocks 4%; an OG NFT adds a flat 1 percentage point on top of any of these tiers, for a maximum of 5%. Each tier also caps how much weekly spend earns cashback, ranging from $250 per week at the lowest tier up to $1,250 per week at the highest, with no rollover of unused cap. Cashback is measured on the lowest GNO balance held during each Sunday-to-Saturday week and paid out the following Thursday.

On fees, Gnosis Pay charges 0% on card transactions, 0% FX markup (though the underlying Visa network exchange rate still applies, typically adding 0.2-0.4% on non-EUR spend), and 0% on the Gnosis Chain gas needed to operate the self-custodial wallet, which Gnosis subsidizes. ATM withdrawals are free up to 5 withdrawals or €200 per month (whichever comes first), with a 2% fee on withdrawals beyond that allowance, subject to a €250 single-withdrawal and €500 daily cap.

Critically, the United Kingdom is on Gnosis's own restricted-country list, not its supported list, despite Gnosis Pay being a UK-registered company; residents of the UK cannot get this card.

Reward tiers

GNO only needs to be held, not staked or locked, and can be sold at any time (the cashback tier simply adjusts). This is a time-limited interim programme funded by Gnosis Ltd. and scheduled to run through September 30, 2026, after which reward structures are expected to change.

Where you can get the Gnosis Pay Card (Gnosis Card)

The United Kingdom is on Gnosis Pay's restricted list rather than its supported list, which surprises people because the company is UK registered. French overseas territories are excluded too, so a French passport does not settle it. Countries on the published expansion roadmap, among them the United States and Australia, are not available yet.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Fully self-custodial, spending directly from a user-controlled Safe wallet rather than a custodial balance
  • 0% fees across card transactions, FX markup, and blockchain gas costs
  • Cashback tiers require only holding GNO, not staking or locking it
  • No card, monthly, or annual fee

What to watch

  • The United Kingdom is explicitly excluded despite Gnosis Pay being a UK-registered company
  • Not yet available in the United States, Canada, Australia, or most of Asia and Africa
  • Each cashback tier caps weekly eligible spend, so heavy spenders earn nothing above the cap
  • The current cashback programme is explicitly time-limited through September 30, 2026 with no confirmed successor terms

Frequently asked questions

Can UK residents get a Gnosis Pay Card?

No. The United Kingdom is explicitly listed on Gnosis Pay's own restricted-countries page, despite Gnosis Pay being a UK-registered company.

Do I need to stake GNO to earn Gnosis Pay cashback?

No, cashback tiers are based on simply holding GNO in your Card Safe, not staking or locking it, and you can sell your GNO at any time, though your cashback tier will adjust accordingly.

What is the maximum cashback on Gnosis Pay Card?

The maximum is 5%, reached by holding at least 100 GNO and also holding an OG NFT; without the OG NFT, the maximum base rate at 100+ GNO is 4%.

Does Gnosis Pay Card charge foreign exchange fees?

Gnosis Pay itself charges 0% FX markup, but the underlying Visa network exchange rate still applies on non-EUR transactions, typically adding roughly 0.2 to 0.4 percent.
