Bitcoin by region

231 country guides, grouped 8 ways by region, 32 by subregion and 6 by economic bloc. Each hub counts what its members share: where bitcoin is legal, which exchanges are ranked in the most guides, and which payment rails recur. The ranking itself stays on each country guide.

Economic and political blocs

Groupings whose membership is a dated fact about the bloc rather than a field on a country record, so each is listed as of a stated date with the bloc's own membership page as its source.

Frequently asked questions

How are the country guides grouped?

Three ways: 8 regions and 32 subregions, following the region and subregion recorded on each of the 231 country guides, and 6 economic blocs whose members are listed as of a stated date with the bloc's own membership page as the source. A grouping with fewer than two guides gets no hub.

What does a region hub add to the country guides?

Counts across the members that no single guide can give: how many of them list bitcoin as legal, which exchanges are ranked in the most of them, and which payment rails they share. Every number is counted from the guides at build time, so a hub changes in the same build as any guide it lists.

Which blocs are covered?

European Union (EU, 27 members); European Economic Area (EEA, 30 members); Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC, 6 members); Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN, 11 members); Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS, 12 members); Caribbean Community (CARICOM, 15 members). Membership dates and sources are on each bloc's page.
