What Multicaixa Express is
Multicaixa Express is the mobile app channel of Angola's Multicaixa interbank network, run by EMIS, the Empresa Interbancária de Serviços created in 2001 by the central bank and the commercial banks. You link one or more Multicaixa cards to the app, then send Express transfers using the recipient's phone number, or ordinary transfers using an IBAN, alongside bill payments, top ups and cardless ATM withdrawals. It requires a bank account and a Multicaixa card, and EMIS says it is the most used channel on the Multicaixa network.
