The payout rails in the Philippines
InstaPay
Paid out by Coins.ph, PDAX.
InstaPay is the Philippines' real time interbank transfer scheme, one of the two automated clearing houses under the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' National Retail Payment System. It moves pesos almost instantly between accounts at participating banks and at e-money issuers such as GCash and Maya, and settles across the BSP's PhilPaSS system. The scheme is governed by the industry body Philippine Payments Management Inc. under BSP oversight. Its sibling PESONet is the batch rail for larger same day transfers.
The rail itself: Funds arrive almost immediately and the scheme runs 24 hours a day, all year round, weekends and holidays included.
PESONet
Paid out by Coins.ph, PDAX.
PESONet is the Philippines' batch electronic fund transfer scheme, launched in November 2017 under the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' National Retail Payment System and administered with Philippine Payments Management Inc. It moves pesos between accounts at BSP supervised banks and e-money issuers, and the BSP describes it as the electronic replacement for the paper cheque. It is the higher value counterpart to InstaPay, which is real time but capped at 50,000 pesos per transaction.
The rail itself: Payments clear in batches across three settlement cycles and credit the same banking day if sent before a cut-off, otherwise the next banking day.
Remittance centre cash pickup
Paid out by Coins.ph.
This is a category rather than one branded scheme: you pick cash payment online, receive a reference number or barcode, then hand the cash across a counter at a partner outlet. In the Philippines those outlets are convenience stores, pawnshops, remittance agents and bills payment windows, the same counters people already use for utility bills and padala. The collection networks behind them are payment aggregators and money service businesses registered with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, which also registers operators of payment systems under the National Payment Systems Act. It suits someone funding an account from cash wages with no card and no online banking.
The rail itself: Posting depends on the outlet and the aggregator: some partners credit within minutes of the till receipt, others send a batch file that clears the next banking day.

UnionBank Direct
Paid out by PDAX.
A local bank transfer moves money between two accounts inside a single country's own payment system, with no correspondent bank and no currency conversion. The scheme is national and different everywhere: SEPA credit transfers and SEPA Instant in the euro area, FedNow and ACH in the United States, Pix in Brazil. The BIS counts fast payment systems live in more than 100 jurisdictions, and the FedNow Service, operated by the Federal Reserve since July 2023, runs a 24 hour business day every day including weekends and holidays. For someone funding an exchange in their own currency this is normally the cheapest option.
The rail itself: Instant rails settle in seconds, and the ECB requires euro instant credit transfers to reach the payee within ten seconds, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, while older batch transfers still take one or two business days.
SWIFT
Paid out by PDAX.
A wire transfer is a bank to bank push payment sent over a high value settlement system, Fedwire in the United States and its equivalents elsewhere, routed through correspondent banks when it crosses a border. There is no chargeback: once the sending bank releases it the payment is effectively final, which is why exchanges accept wires for large deposits. A cross border wire can pass through one or more intermediary banks, each able to deduct its own charge before the money arrives.
The rail itself: A domestic wire clears the same business day, with Fedwire open from 9pm eastern the previous calendar day until 7pm eastern and closed on weekends and Federal Reserve holidays, while a cross border wire can take several business days.

Is selling bitcoin legal in the Philippines?
Bitcoin is legal in the Philippines under one of Asia's older regulatory frameworks: the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has licensed virtual asset service providers since 2017, and the SEC's Crypto-Asset Service Provider rules took effect on July 5, 2025. Enforcement against unregistered platforms is real: regulators had Binance blocked at the network level in 2024 and added ten more offshore exchanges, including Kraken, in August 2025. Buying on licensed platforms is fully lawful.
