What the rails themselves cost
The scheme or the bank sets these, not Bitpanda. The 6 rails Bitpanda offers in the most countries we rank it in.
- SEPA transfer
- Set by your own bank rather than by the scheme, and inside the EU and EEA a euro transfer to another SEPA country must cost the same as a domestic one.
- Credit or debit card
- The networks bill the merchant rather than you, but many issuers class a crypto purchase as a cash advance, and the CFPB notes that interest on a cash advance generally starts from the transaction date with no grace period.
- Apple Pay
- Apple states that it charges no fee when you pay with Apple Pay in stores, online or in apps, so your cost is whatever the underlying card costs, including any cash advance treatment by the issuer.
- Google Pay
- Google says it does not charge a monetary fee to use a virtual card, so you pay only what the underlying card costs, which for a crypto purchase may include cash advance treatment by your issuer.
- SEPA Instant
- Under the EU Instant Payments Regulation a provider may not charge more for sending or receiving an instant credit transfer than it charges for an ordinary one.
- iDEAL
- Free for the payer: the Dutch Payments Association states iDEAL is included as standard and free of charge with every payment account, with the merchant paying the scheme fee.
