About Twenty One Capital

Twenty One Capital was built the other way round from most treasury companies. Rather than an operating business converting its cash, it was assembled as a bitcoin holding vehicle from the start: Tether and Bitfinex contributed the majority of the coins, SoftBank took a minority position, and the whole thing reached public markets in December 2025 by merging with the Cantor Equity Partners blank-cheque company.

It listed holding 43,514 bitcoin, a position that has not moved since. The company measures itself in bitcoin per share rather than dollars, on the argument that a shareholder should care about how much of the stack each share represents.

The first year as a public company has been rough. Jack Mallers, the Strike founder who launched it, was replaced as chief executive by Raphael Zagury in 2026, and the company reported a 414 million dollar loss for the second quarter amid questions about its governance and the terms of its formation.

Frequently asked questions

Who actually controls Twenty One Capital?

Tether and Bitfinex hold the majority economic interest, with SoftBank as a minority holder. Public shareholders who came in through the Cantor Equity Partners merger own a comparatively small slice, which is a governance consideration worth understanding before buying the stock.
