About Galaxy Digital
Galaxy Digital is a diversified crypto financial services business: trading, lending, asset management, investment banking and data centre infrastructure. Its bitcoin position is a working balance rather than a treasury strategy, which makes it different in kind from most of the companies on this page.
The coins sit across trading inventory, collateral for its lending book and corporate treasury, so the figure moves with client activity and market making rather than with announced purchase decisions. Galaxy also holds material amounts of other assets, including ether and solana, which no single bitcoin number captures.
Because the position is operational, the most reliable figure is the balance sheet number in its annual report rather than a press release. That is what we use here, which means Galaxy's date is often older than the miners and treasury companies above it.
Frequently asked questions
Why is Galaxy's holdings date older than most companies here?
Its bitcoin is trading and lending inventory, not an announced treasury position, so there are no purchase press releases to date. The dependable figure is the balance sheet in its annual report, which is published once a year.
