Holdings over time

Cumulative bitcoin held after each disclosed event. The line steps rather than slopes because treasury positions change on purchase dates, not continuously.

We have one dated figure for Trump Media and Technology Group so far, shown in the table below, and the table says where it came from. A chart needs at least two dated points, and we would rather show nothing than draw a trend through a single figure. This fills in as the company publishes, or as we backfill its earlier announcements.

Why does Trump Media and Technology Group hold bitcoin?

Trump Media, the company behind Truth Social, announced a bitcoin treasury in July 2025 funded by a capital raise, and became one of the larger corporate holders almost immediately. What has followed is the most volatile holdings history of any company here.

The position fell to 9,477 coins by the end of June 2026, with some bitcoin committed as loan collateral and the company booking 361 million dollars of crypto losses in the first half of the year. It then bought 4,662 coins in July, taking the stack back above 14,000.

The company also holds a large position in CRO, the Cronos token, through a separate arrangement. That is a different asset with a different risk profile, and it is not included in the bitcoin figure here.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Trump Media's bitcoin count move so much?

It has both bought and pledged coins in short order, using some as loan collateral and disposing of others during the 2026 drawdown, then buying back several thousand in July 2026. Unlike a hold-only treasury, the position is actively used in financing.
