Holdings over time
Cumulative bitcoin held after each disclosed event. The line steps rather than slopes because treasury positions change on purchase dates, not continuously.
Only a few disclosures are on file so far. The line joins the points we can source, and grows as more are published.
We do not yet have enough dated market cap points for Canaan to chart its valuation history. Rather than interpolate, we leave it out until the figures are filled in.

About Canaan
Canaan makes Avalon mining rigs and mines with them. That dual role shapes the treasury: coins arrive from its own hashrate, from a joint venture, and from customers who pay for hardware in bitcoin rather than dollars, and the company publishes a production update every month naming the total.
The composition is worth understanding before reading the number. At 31 March 2026 Canaan reported 1,871 bitcoin in total, made up of 802.6 it owned outright, 905 pledged as collateral for secured term loans, 100 placed in a fixed term product, and 63.4 held as customer deposits. By the end of June 2026 the total had reached 1,915, which the company called a record, alongside 3,952 ether.
Production is modest and volatile. June 2026 yielded 64 BTC, and a net addition of 49 after operating costs, against grid maintenance at one facility and wildfire disruption at the Alborz site earlier in the year.
Frequently asked questions
Is all of Canaan's bitcoin actually available to it?
No. At its last detailed breakdown, roughly half the total was pledged as collateral against secured term loans or placed in a fixed term product, and a small amount was held as customer deposits rather than owned. The company reports the combined figure, which is what we show.
