Holdings over time

Cumulative bitcoin held after each disclosed event. The line steps rather than slopes because treasury positions change on purchase dates, not continuously.

We have one dated figure for Bitcoin Group SE so far, shown in the table below, and the table says where it came from. A chart needs at least two dated points, and we would rather show nothing than draw a trend through a single figure. This fills in as the company publishes, or as we backfill its earlier announcements.

About Bitcoin Group SE

Bitcoin Group SE is the oldest holder here and the least like a modern treasury company. Founded in 2008, it owns futurum bank AG, which runs Bitcoin.de, one of Europe's larger crypto trading venues, and half of the BaFin supervised Sineus Financial Services. Its coins were accumulated across more than a decade of operating that exchange, not bought with money raised for the purpose, and there has never been a convertible or an at the market programme behind them.

It is also the one company on this list whose coin count we cannot source. Bitcoin Group reports its proprietary crypto holding exclusively as a euro value: 70.8 million euro at the end of 2022, 164.8 million at the end of 2023, just under 366 million at the end of 2024, and 293 million at the end of 2025, the fall attributed to a lower bitcoin price and a weaker dollar rather than to selling. The figure shown above comes from a tracker rather than from the company, and we show it for comparability while noting plainly that Bitcoin Group has never confirmed it.

The balance sheet is unlevered, with an equity ratio above 70 percent, and the company pays a dividend, which nothing else on this list does.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no source for Bitcoin Group's coin count?

Because the company does not publish one. Its annual reports state the value of its crypto holdings in euro and stop there. Every coin figure in circulation for Bitcoin Group is derived by a third party, so we show the tracker figure and label it rather than attribute it to a disclosure that does not exist.
