Bitpanda Card review

Last reviewed 2026-08-24

Bitpanda Card simplified its rewards structure in 2025, moving away from a token-holding VIP ladder to a single flat rate available to every cardholder.

As of April 2025, all Bitpanda Card users earn a flat 1% cashback on purchases funded with cryptocurrency, paid instantly in the same asset used for the transaction; a purchase made with Dogecoin, for example, earns 1% back in Dogecoin. This flat rate applies regardless of any BEST (now Vision/VSN) token holdings, replacing the older tiered VIP system that previously scaled cashback up to 2% for higher-tier token holders. Cashback explicitly excludes purchases funded with euros, stablecoins (USDC, USDT, EUROCV), precious metals, or Bitpanda Stocks, and is also excluded on certain merchant category codes like money transfers, utility bills, and tax payments.

The first card order is free, with a €5.90 to €9.90 replacement fee (sources vary) if the card is lost or damaged. There is no monthly or annual maintenance fee. Bitpanda states 0% foreign exchange fees on top of its own margin for non-euro transactions, though Visa's own network markup still applies on top of that. ATM withdrawals cost €2 per withdrawal according to the issuer's own support article (some cardholder-agreement PDFs and third-party sources cite a 2%-or-€2-whichever-is-higher structure instead, so the exact figure should be confirmed at signup). Eligibility is narrower than Bitpanda's account coverage suggests. Bitpanda verifies accounts in around forty countries, but its own support article for the card limits it to residents of the euro area, excluding Cyprus and Liechtenstein, so a verified account in a non-euro country still does not get you the card.

Reward tiers

Cashback excludes purchases funded with euros, stablecoins (USDC, USDT, EUROCV), precious metals, or Bitpanda Stocks, and excludes certain merchant category codes such as money transfers, utility bills, and tax payments. Where you can get the Bitpanda Card

Bitpanda verifies accounts in around forty countries, but the card itself is narrower: its own support article limits it to euro-area residents, excluding Cyprus and Liechtenstein. If your country has not adopted the euro, a verified Bitpanda account does not get you the card.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Flat 1% cashback available to every cardholder with no token-holding or staking tier required
  • No monthly or annual maintenance fee, and the first card is free to order
  • Cashback is paid instantly in the same asset used for the purchase
  • 0% Bitpanda-side foreign exchange markup beyond the standard Visa network rate

What to watch

  • Cashback excludes euro, stablecoin, precious-metal, and stock-funded purchases, only crypto-funded spending qualifies
  • Restricted to euro-area residents, so a verified Bitpanda account outside the eurozone does not qualify
  • Sources disagree on the exact ATM fee, ranging from a flat €2 to a 2%-or-€2-whichever-is-higher structure
  • Cashback rate dropped from a previous VIP-tiered maximum of 2% to a flat 1% for all users

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to hold BEST or Vision tokens to get Bitpanda Card cashback?

No. As of April 2025, all Bitpanda Card users receive a flat 1% cashback on crypto-funded purchases regardless of BEST or Vision (VSN) token holdings, replacing the previous VIP tier system.

Which countries can order a Bitpanda Card?

Residents of the euro area, except Cyprus and Liechtenstein, according to Bitpanda's own support article for the card. Bitpanda verifies accounts in a wider set of countries, but that list gates the account rather than the card.

Does Bitpanda Card give cashback on euro or stablecoin purchases?

No, cashback only applies to purchases funded with cryptocurrency; transactions funded with euros, stablecoins like USDC or USDT, precious metals, or Bitpanda Stocks are excluded from the cashback programme.

What is the Bitpanda Card ATM fee?

Bitpanda's own support article states a flat €2 per ATM withdrawal, though the cardholder agreement PDF and some third-party sources describe it as 2 percent of the withdrawal amount or €2, whichever is higher; confirm the current figure in-app before relying on it.
