We have one dated figure for Athena Bitcoin Global so far, shown in the table below, and the table says where it came from. A chart needs at least two dated points, and we would rather show nothing than draw a trend through a single figure. This fills in as the company publishes, or as we backfill its earlier announcements.

About Athena Bitcoin Global

Athena Bitcoin operates kiosks where people buy bitcoin with cash, across the United States and Latin America. Its own explanation of its holdings is the clearest inventory policy on this list: it does not custody bitcoin for kiosk users, and its relationship with a primary liquidity provider lets it purchase coins to quickly replenish amounts sold, which means it holds relatively small amounts for customer sales at any given time.

That is a working inventory, sized to a day's demand, not a treasury. Nine coins for a business of this footprint is a deliberate choice to carry no price risk between the moment a customer pays and the moment the position is refilled.

It is the opposite posture to nearly everything else in this table, and it is worth seeing stated plainly, because a company operating hundreds of machines could easily have accumulated instead.
