What is PSE?

PSE, short for Pagos Seguros en Línea, is Colombia's online bank debit button, operated by ACH Colombia and supervised by the Superintendencia Financiera. At checkout you pick your bank, log into your own online banking and authorise a debit from a savings account, current account or electronic deposit, then return to the merchant with a confirmation. More than 35 institutions take part, from Bancolombia, BBVA, Davivienda and Banco de Bogotá to Nequi, Daviplata, Movii and Nu, which makes it the usual way to pay online in pesos from a bank account.

Speed

PSE says a transaction takes a maximum of 21 minutes to process.

Cost

PSE states that the service is completely free for users and should not generate any charge when you make a transaction.

Limits

PSE applies no daily cap of its own, but each bank sets a maximum amount per transaction, which you can adjust in your bank's own portal.

Using PSE in Colombia
