What is Pago Móvil?
Pago Móvil is Venezuela's interbank mobile payment scheme. It sends bolívares between accounts at different banks using the recipient's phone number rather than an account number, and it covers person to person, person to merchant and merchant initiated payments. Transactions route through the national interbank switches, CONEXUS among them, and the Banco Central de Venezuela sets the ceiling on what banks may charge for it.
- Speed
- Transfers between different Venezuelan banks are processed immediately, at any hour of the day.
- Cost
- The BCV tariff published on 31 July 2026 caps person to person Pago Móvil at 0.30 percent of the amount, with a minimum charge of 14 bolívares.
- Limits
- Each bank sets a daily cap within the BCV rules; Banco de Venezuela, for example, limits interbank Pago Móvil to 500,000 bolívares a day.
Speed and cost describe the rail itself. What an exchange adds on top varies by platform and is shown per exchange below.
