An amendment to the Reserve Bank of Fiji Act that took effect on August 30, 2025 went further, outlawing the provision of virtual asset services in Fiji, with penalties reaching one million dollars in fines and up to 14 years in prison. Bitcoin is not legal tender, and the RBF has licensed no crypto provider.
