About Samara Asset Group

Samara Asset Group was founded in 2018 as Cryptology Asset Group and renamed in March 2023. It is based in Sliema, Malta, listed in Germany, and its business is seeding emerging managers and building companies in digital assets, with bitcoin as the primary treasury reserve behind that.

It was the first European issuer to fund a treasury with a bitcoin bond, which is a genuinely different instrument from the convertible notes that dominate this sector: the debt is raised specifically against the coin position rather than against equity dilution.

The position is large relative to the company. It held 525 coins in July 2025, worth about $57.3 million, which at the time was roughly 28 percent of its entire market value. For a listed investment company that ratio is the whole story, because it means the share price is substantially a leveraged view on bitcoin whatever else the portfolio does.
