What is JazzCash?

JazzCash is a Pakistani mobile wallet, run as a branchless banking service by Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited under a State Bank of Pakistan licence and carried under the Jazz mobile network's brand. An account is opened against your CNIC and mobile number, and you load it with cash at an agent, by transfer from a bank account, or by pulling funds from a card. From there it sends money to other JazzCash wallets, to any Pakistani bank account over the interbank rails, and to merchants.

Speed: Wallet to wallet transfers and transfers out to a bank account complete in real time at any hour, over Pakistan's 1LINK interbank rails and the State Bank's Raast instant payment system.
Cost: Wallet to wallet sending is free, and interbank fund transfers out of the wallet are free up to an aggregate 25,000 rupees a month, after which they cost 0.1% of the amount or 200 rupees, whichever is lower, before tax.
Limits: That free allowance is an aggregate 25,000 rupees of interbank sending per month rather than a per transfer cap, and money coming in is charged separately, at 0.50% for an agent cash deposit and 3% for pulling funds from a card.
