What is FAST instant transfer?

FAST, from Fonlarin Anlik ve Surekli Transferi (Instant and Continuous Transfer of Funds), is Turkey's instant payment rail for retail lira transfers. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye designed it, owns it and operates it as a system separate from the older EFT, and it opened to all customers on 8 January 2021 after a pilot that began on 18 December 2020. Banks and licensed payment and electronic money institutions connect to it, so you send from your normal banking app to an IBAN and the recipient has the money at once.

Speed

The central bank says end to end retail transfers finish within seconds, and unlike the older EFT system FAST runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Cost

What you pay is your own Turkish institution's charge for an outgoing transfer, set within the fee ceilings Turkish regulation imposes rather than priced by FAST itself.

Limits

The transaction cap rose from 100,000 lira to 300,000 lira on 26 August 2026 by central bank decision, with QR code merchant payments moving to the same figure.
