What is BLIK?

BLIK is Poland's mobile payment system, owned and run by Polski Standard Płatności, known in the market as PSP. Instead of entering card details, you generate a one time code inside your own bank's app and approve the payment there. Polish banks build BLIK into their apps, so the same system covers online checkouts, in store payments, ATM withdrawals and transfers to a phone number. For funding an account, it behaves like a bank push payment you authorise on your phone.

Speed

Effectively instant: the one time code is valid for just 2 minutes and you confirm the payment in your banking app while the checkout waits.

Cost

BLIK sets no consumer price of its own, so what you pay comes from the table of fees and commissions of the bank whose app you use; BLIK contactless payments are free of charge.

Limits

Amount and count limits are set individually by each bank, and transactions above 50 PLN normally require PIN confirmation in the app unless your bank lets you change that.
