The OKCoin brand is retired

The OKCoin brand was folded into OKX region by region, with all Okcoin trading switched off by May 2026. Visit OKX

OKCoin no longer exists as a standalone exchange: the brand was retired region by region and folded into OKX, with the last Okcoin trading services switched off in May 2026.

Founded in 2013 by Star Xu, OKCoin was one of the earliest large bitcoin exchanges and at times among the highest-volume venues in the world. Its derivatives spinoff OKEx eventually became OKX, and the group put its weight behind that brand, leaving OKCoin as the simpler, regulation-focused spot exchange, with its US arm based in San Francisco.

The wind-down ran region by region: Latin America, the Middle East, Hong Kong and South Asia first, then Singapore and the EU, with the US converting last. Accounts and balances were migrated to OKX, and remaining Okcoin trading stopped in May 2026.

If you had an OKCoin account, your path forward is OKX. If you would rather not follow the migration, Kraken and Binance are the obvious large-exchange alternatives.
