Is buying bitcoin with Google Pay legal in Bulgaria?
Bitcoin is fully legal in Bulgaria. The national Markets in Crypto-Assets Act, in force since July 2025, implements the EU's MiCA regulation and makes the Financial Supervision Commission the licensing and supervisory authority for crypto-asset service providers. Bulgaria also joined the euro area on January 1, 2026, so euro payment rails now apply natively. Gains for individuals are generally taxed at Bulgaria's flat 10 percent personal income tax rate.
